As you travel through your Fairway Market, taking in the scenes and endless possibilities, your nose may come across a delightful aroma that is simply irresistible. It’s the smell of fresh-baked bagels and baguettes. Just like at a European marketplace, these were hand-crafted to perfection, each with care and skillful attention.
Good bread can make or break a meal. But where did this crusty and delicious work of Fairway art come from? Born from a European tradition, our breads, bagels, and baguettes are not par-baked like so many other stores – that’s not how we do it at Fairway. When you toss that baguette into your basket, or wrap up those bagels, they are straight from a cooling rack fresh out of the oven baked on premises. They may even still be warm.
MMMM, NY BAGELS
Our bagels are known for being among the best in New York City. With this standard, we might as well say they are among the best in the world. New York is proud of its bagels and we are no exception. Even Mayor Bloomberg was quoted during his election race as saying that Fairway’s onion bagel was one of the best he’s had in his life. Thank you, Mr. Mayor!
The baked-to-golden-perfection crust encases a full and soft inside that tastes so good you can eat it by itself. But for more flair, be sure to grab some Fairway cream cheese, freshly ground natural and organic Fairway nut butters, Fairway organic jam, or our beloved smoked salmon. Really, this bagel is the open door to delicious creativity, and the only thing that could make it any better is pairing it with some Fairway fresh ground coffee!
When you stop by the olive oil tasting station, another Fairway trademark, that piece of bread you’re dunking into our liquid gold is a Fairway fresh-baked baguette. Yes, the olive oil is truly amazing, but it’s the bread that makes the experience and brings out the true flavors of the oils. Your brilliant idea is to get a second baguette and a bottle of your new favorite olive oil. We know. We do it, too.
