We aim to offer high-quality kosher selections throughout our stores, so when you're going from department to department and aisle to aisle, you can easily find at Fairway what is difficult to find elsewhere. Moshe Morrison, our Director of Kosher Foods, always wants to exceed your expectations, and he knows how. He grew up in the food business with a mother who was a chef and a father who works in hashgacha, supervising kosher foods. Morrison's first job in the retail food industry was at a large supermarket chain where he worked in management for a deli section and butcher shop. He's even owned and operated kosher restaurants, worked in merchandising for a kosher distributor, and has been a part of the Fairway family since 2010.

One of our main goals is to surprise and delight you with our variety of kosher options, including Fairway's private label products, our traditional and specialty groceries, our coffee, as well as our dairy, organic, gluten-free, imported, and frozen items. Stroll our dairy section, and you'll discover Fresh & Healthy Cholov Yisroel milk (based on availability, and currently sold in all stores except Fairway's Stamford store). Also check out our selection of Haolam and Miller's kosher sliced and shredded cheeses, in addition to Tnuva's kosher sliced or soft, creamy cheese. Then mosey on over to our olive oil sampling station, where you can taste the surprisingly fragrant flavor of Fairway's Baena Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a Spanish kosher-certified oil, that Steve Jenkins, Fairway's Importer, has worked on for a year to bring to you. The Best Kosher Baked Goods . . .
. . . are sold in Fairway, and our private label kosher bakery items are under the strict rabbinical supervision of Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein, who is the director of Mehadrin Kashrus, the widely respected kosher supervision serviced based in Manhattan, NY. What other supermarket sells kosher, classic French Baguettes like ours that are soft in the middle, with a crispy mouth-watering crust, made fresh in our bakeries? Plus, Fairway's kosher bagels are baked fresh every morning, and they're ROLLED BY HAND - machines can't produce these chewy and airy creations. You'll find standard size and mini bagels sold in several varieties to suit any taste: plain, cinnamon raisin, whole wheat, pumpernickel, poppy seed, sesame seed, everything, blueberry, garlic, and onion. Plus, we even sell flagels, which are flat bagels. (Note: Fairway's private label baguettes and bagels are kosher in all our stores except at Plainview's market.) In all our stores there are kosher muffins, cakes, cookies, pies, challah (round challah, specifically, is sold during the holidays), and so much more for all your kosher snacking, entertaining, and holiday needs. The kosher cakes we sell include babkas, cheesecakes, honey cakes, marble cakes, red velvet cakes, carrot cakes, chocolate mousse cakes, and chocolate ganache cakes.

All of our kosher meat and poultry is certified Glatt Kosher.

Where it comes from: Our Master Butcher Ray Venezia made a terrific arrangement with Murray's Chickens, an industry leader of certified-humane, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free poultry, and Kiryas Joel, our kosher poultry slaughterhouse, to provide you with great quality, fresh kosher chicken. Look for the kosher certification when shopping Murray's Chicken products at Fairway. Murray's Chickens are local, too! Our kosher, pre-cut red meat is also provided by OU- and USDA-certified vendors you can trust.

What we offer: A variety of cuts of poultry and red meat, based on availability, for all your needs, including top of rib, flanken, ground beef, veal stew, veal cutlets, turkey drumsticks, baby lamb chops.

Fishing for Kosher
When you want kosher salmon that has gone through several quality checks, Fairway is your fishmonger. In general, our salmon - like the rest of our fish - hails from HAACP-approved facilities and NYDEC licensed boats managed by fisherman who are inspected and approved by the USDA, but in the Stamford, Paramus, and Pelham stores, certified kosher salmon that was produced and packaged under the supervision of Rabbi Marmorstein is also available.

Plus, our frozen, kosher fish fillets (sold in our Stamford, Paramus, Pelham, Plainview, and Red Hook stores; based on availability) are so fresh, you'll forget you're in the freezer section. Prepared from whole fish, our breaded flounder and pollock fillets come from fresh, wild catch brought to you by Ossie's Fish Market, in Brooklyn, known for their quality products for more than 40 years. YOU WON'T GET OU-CERTIFIED FISH LIKE THIS IN ANY OTHER SUPERMARKET! Along with the farm-raised, breaded tilapia, these ready-to-bake kosher fillets are the ticket for a lightning fast, no-mess, oven-to-table dinner in minutes. You'll find that Fairway has several prepackaged options to satisfy your smoked salmon cravings, and they include Scottish Smoked Salmon, Irish Smoked Salmon, Norwegian Smoked Salmon, and Pastrami Smoked Salmon. We also have Nova (i.e., smoked lox), including Nova Salmon and Gaspe Nova. Fairway's own, prepackaged, "KOF-K" certified smoked salmon and Nova choices are brined to salty perfection and smoked in the NYC tradition.
