Ringing the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania we find some of the regions best coffee farms, reveling in the fertile volcanic soils, good water, and cooler elevations. One of their specialties is the selection of the rare peaberries, rounded, single coffee beans that develop from the coffee cherry (the coffee tree's fruit) -- unlike the customary pair of beans that are usually seen. Peaberries are given a medium roast, bringing out all of their subtlety and flavor. The brew produces a light to medium body with a mild, soft acidity, just clever enough to bring forth rich flavors of dried fruit with a sharp chocolate finish.
