Fresh & Delicious Veggies from Satur Farms
The life-long skills and expertise of Chef Eberhard Muller and Paulette Satur were a perfect match for the success of Satur Farms. Muller was a professional chef for 30 years in various well-known restaurants, living the sexy fast-paced New York City life. Satur came from her family’s farm in PA and received her degrees in Horticulture and Plant Physiology from Penn State U. They say opposites attract and aren’t we glad of it! When Muller and Satur decided to purchase a small farm in 1997 to grow a few crops for Chef Muller’s restaurant, it must have been a plan devised in culinary heaven. It wasn’t too long before colleagues of Chef Muller were asking to purchase the high quality produce and from there Satur Farms was born. The bright lights of the city dimmed for Chef Muller as he turned his full attention to the sunlit fields of Long Island to make the farm the wealth it is today.
Satur Farms specializes in the cultivation of leafy vegetables, heirloom tomatoes, root vegetables, and herbs. Just looking at the pictures of their gorgeous, lush greenery makes you wish you were a cow. A major part that contributes to the beauty and deliciousness of the crops is the Satur Farms commitment to sustainable farming and organically approved pest control when needed. Fairway Market and Satur Farms share the value for superb quality and care of produce, which is why we bring their products to you daily. Satur Farms is currently harvesting Mesclun, Wild Arugula, Baby Spinach, Mache, Butterhead Lettuces, Frisee, Treviso and Radicchio, Baby Bok Choi, Swiss Card, Colored Beets, Colored Carrots, Colored Cauliflower, Broccoli and Herbs.
