This extra-virgin olive oil -- called Cuvee Terroir -- has such a rich history! It’s produced by the Moulin de la Chartreuse olive oil mill that has been making oil since 1358. The mill was built on the site of one of the largest Carthusian monasteries in France -- in the town of Villeneuve -- outside of the city of Avignon, and the monastery was founded by Pope Innocent VI. In 2008, the Bronzini family took over the mill, and in 2011, the Cuvee Terroir won the Gold Medal at the Concours General Agricole, a French agricultural competition that recognizes the best traditional French products.
