NEW YORK'S BEST KEPT SECRET: Upper West Side Café & Steakhouse

Rastaurant

"Up a steep stairway is this unpretentious-but-intimate, slightly bohemian steakhouse." - Manhattan Living (8/05)

Mitchel London knows from fresh eggs. He knows butter and creme fraiche. Mitchel falls to his knees before ice cream, hot dogs, corned beef hash and fraises de bois. Milk shakes are his passion, and he often says, "they go down way to easy."He has a touch of a gastronomic autodidact, a knack that can't be taught, of infusing the dishes he creates with an intensity of flavor that makes them seem original, his own.

Mitchel's passion is the old way, the old dishes made with ingredients that are unassailable - Dover sole, skate, roasted clams, dry-aged prime beef, sausage, borscht, foie gras, a Reuben sandwich, leeks in vinaigrette. We bet you can't find a better deal in the city!

THE FAIRWAY CAFÉ at Plainview, Long Island

Restaurant

Fairway proves that sequels can be just as good as the original.

A spinoff of our successful Upper West Side restaurant, this casual dining café capitalizes on Fairway's vast selection of fresh meats, produce and baked goods to provide our customers a culinary oasis from the hustle and bustle of their shopping. In fact, the real draw for Plainview residents is Chef Oliveri. He is always creating new dishes to bring an ethnic flair to his slice of suburbia.
