Serves: 2 to 3
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound extra large (about 16 to 20) peeled and deveined shrimp
- 1/2 jar Fairway Italian red chile paste
- 4 ounces Mirin (sweet cooking rice wine)
- 1 lime, halved, and juice half the lime
- 2 ounces brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Fairway honey
- 1 teaspoon Fairway sea salt
- 1/2 bunch of scallions, chopped (only the white part)
DIRECTIONS
- Mix chile paste, Mirin, lime juice, brown sugar, honey, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Add shrimp to the mixture and toss.
- Marinate for 30 minutes.
- Place shrimp and sauce on a baking sheet.
- Broil shrimp for 12 to 15 minutes until the tails have blackened a bit.
- Remove from oven, plate, and garnish with chopped scallions, and the remainder of the lime cut into half-moon slices.
