Made with ground beef, vegetables and mashed potatoes, this easy shepherd’s pie recipe has it all. Ingredients
1 pound 80% lean ground beef
1 small sweet yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
½ cup beef stock
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 can (15 oz) Green Giant Sweet Peas, drained
15 oz Sliced Carrots
1 can (7 ounces) Green Giant SteamCrisp Niblets Corn, drained
2 cups mashed potatoes
Directions
  1. Heat ground beef over medium in a large skillet. Use a spatula to break up beef into small pieces. Cook 5 minutes. Add onion and garlic. Continue to cook 3 minutes longer.
  2. Sprinkle flour, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper over beef. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring regularly.
  3. Add tomato paste, stock and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until incorporated. Simmer for 3 minutes, until sauce has thickened.
  4. Add sweet peas, carrots and corn. Stir well.
  5. Pour mixture into a large casserole dish and top with dollops of mashed potatoes. Spread potatoes evenly.
  6. Heat oven to broil on high. Broil for 8-10 minutes, or until potatoes are golden brown.
