Lakewood Organic Pure Aloe is inner fillet aloe vera juice, made from 99% organic aloe vera with 1% organic lemon juice. Each 32 oz glass bottle is made with 3 lbs of organic aloe, and it is latex free and aloin free, containing less than 2 ppm aloin, a specification stated on the label. Inner fillet means only the clear gel from inside the leaf goes into the bottle, with the outer rind and the latex layer removed, which is the part of the plant most people picture when they think of aloe. The taste is mild, clean, and very light, with a subtle vegetal note and a touch of brightness from the lemon, neither sweet nor bitter and far more neutral than most people expect. Most people drink it chilled in a small glass, and because the flavor is so mild it also mixes easily into water or sparkling water, blends into smoothies, stirs into juice or iced tea, and works as a base in cocktails and mocktails where you want body without added sweetness.
